Why I’m Qualified to Help You

This isn’t about me flexing or giving you some overhyped sales pitch. I’m just giving you facts so you can decide if I’m the right person to help you

Over eight years, I completed three degrees; Bachelor, Honours, and Masters in Exercise Science. But more importantly, I’ve taken that academic foundation and turned it into actionable, real-world strategies that will practicaly

I’ve competed in over 10 powerlifting comps, held an Australian deadlift record, and spent countless hours refining my squat, bench, and deadlift technique. That experience I have converted into knowledge to help lifters like you improve, avoid common mistakes, and hit new PRs

I’ve been coaching full-time since 2014, dedicating the majority of my adult life to helping people get stronger, refine their appearance, improve their nutrition habits, and perfect their lifting technique. I’m lucky enough to make a living doing what I love, and I genuinely enjoy passing on my knowledge to those who are eager to learn and push themselves to become better

I’ve coached somewhere between 500 and 1,000 people, not saying that to flex, but to highlight the range of lifters I’ve worked with, from absolute beginners to experienced athletes. Because of that, I’ve seen just about every lifting technique issue and know exactly how to fix them. At this point, it’s rare for me to come across a problem I haven’t already tackled

I wouldn’t be putting this workshop together if I wasn’t 100% confident in my ability to help you improve your lifting technique. No matter where you’re at right now, whether you’re just starting out or already experience, you will walk away from this workshop with a solid understanding of how to lift efficiently and safely

But as said already - Come into the workshop and find out for yourself. If you don't get any value fom the workshop or feel it wasn't worth your money and time, I'll give you a full refund.

Where is the gym located?

Our gym is located in Taren Point, Sutherland ShireU8/58 Box Rd, Taren Point NSW 2229

How will the workshops run?

This workshop will take place weekly, every Thursday night at 6:45 PM. Each session will focus on a specific lift: Squat, Bench Press, or Deadlift. The lifts will rotate each week, so be sure to book the class that corresponds to the lift you wish to learn.

The class will accommodate a maximum of four participants. Each person will perform the lift under the coach's direct supervision. If you have never done the lift before, the coach will provide you with a breakdown of the technique before you attempt it.

After your lift, the coach will give you feedback, and you will have the opportunity to repeat the lift several times. Once the coach has finished with one participant, they will move on to the next person. During this time, you can either continue practicing your lift in the gym or observe the coach as they critique other lifters to enhance your understanding.

The coach will rotate through all participants multiple times, ensuring that you receive several critiques of your technique throughout the workshop. After the session, you will receive specific technique cues to work on, which the coach will write down for you to take home so you can remember the key points discussed.

The workshop will last approximately 60 to 80 minutes, depending on the number of participants, the level of assistance required, and individual ability to grasp the techniques, among other factors.

How much do the workshops cost?

$59 per workshop

I get pain during particular lifts. Can I still be helped?

Yes. Come in. The coach will likely be able to help you understand how to relieve your pain and adjust your technique accordingly. To discuss this in more detail and ensure the coach can assist you, please email your questions to [email protected]

I have zero lifting experience. Can I be helped?

Most definitely. Since the feedback is individualised to each person in the workshop, the advice will be tailored to your level of experience.

What if I’m not strong enough?

You are probably strong enough to lift an empty barbell. If not, the coach can still demonstrate variations of the lifts that you can practice. They will also provide you with a plan to progress toward mastering the full lift.

Can I bring someone with me to watch?

If someone wants to watch but not participate, they can do so for a fee of $25, which can be paid at the gym. However, if the person watching is a parent or guardian of a participant under 18 years old, they can watch for free.

Can people under 18 years of age attend?

Yes. So long as they have the interest and concentration to listen to the coach. Parents can stay and watch for free.

I have poor mobility and/or flexibility and struggle to do the barbell lifts. Can you still help me?

Yes. More often than not, you probably do have adequate joint movement, but it’s your technique that’s limiting you from getting into the proper lifting positions. However, suppose you genuinely have a lack of flexibility or mobility, which limits you from getting into the proper positions. In that case, the coach will be able to explain and demonstrate how to correct your movement, allowing you to become mobile enough to eventually perform the lifts.

I feel shy or anxious about lifting in front of other people

1. No one cares what your technique looks like besides yourself, and you’re likely creating a worrying narrative in your head that isn’t true, e.g., "Everyone thinks I look dumb," "Everyone thinks I look weak," "People are going to make fun of me," etc. Everyone in the workshop is there because they want to be helped, and it’s unlikely that you’re being judged.

Maybe people are thinking, “It’s good to see that this individual is seeking out help”. At the end of the day, it’s not important what people think of you, as you’re probably never going to see them again anyway. Likewise, I guarantee that by the end of the workshop, your technique will have improved relative to what it was before the workshop.

2. The gym where the workshop is held is a small, private, non-commercial training facility, so it won’t be very busy. The gym maintains an ego-free and non-intimidating environment. If people are being rude to others, they’ll be kicked out of the gym.

3. If you are anxious and it’s going to affect your ability to perform, I can offer one-on-one coaching at a separate time for $105 per hour. Contact me at [email protected] to organise.

Can I attend multiple workshops?

Yes, you can book for as many workshops as you like. If you have a lot to work on, it’s encouraged that you come to future workshops of the same lift as the coach will remember you and can continue progressing your technique over weeks until your movement is perfect.

What is the money-back guarantee?

If you attend the workshop and feel like it was a waste of your time – You didn’t learn anything, the coach didn’t help you, or you feel like you got no value, tell the coach or send an e-mail, and you will get a full refund back into your bank account

I need to cancel; can I get a refund before attending the workshop?

Refunds are not issued before the workshop to minimise people not coming because they couldn’t be bothered. All sales are final, so please ensure you select a date that you are certain you can attend. However, if you have an urgent matter and are unable to attend, you can use your payment as a credit for a future workshop. Contact [email protected] to use your credit for another workshop.

Do you offer one-on-one coaching?

Yes. You can email [email protected] to organise or visit www.spcperformancelab.com.au for more information.

I live far away and can’t physically attend. Do you have remote coaching options?

Yes. I can help you refine your technique and provide online coaching. You can email [email protected] to organise or visit www.spcperformancelab.com.au for more information.
